I am a professionally trained and qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I offer short and long term therapy in the Bournemouth area.
In addition to my private practice, I have extensive experience working in a variety of settings, as well as undertaken training to support clients with alcohol and/or substance misuse issues and the related difficulties that may arise from their addiction.
During our initial meeting, you will have an opportunity to ask questions, explore whether we can develop a working relationship and if you feel safe and comfortable to work with me.
It is estimated that almost one in five people in the UK have experienced anxiety or depression, so this can be a significant issue, and one that has the potential to hold us back in our lives. Embarking on your journey of counselling we can explore this issue and work towards developing coping strategies in order to alleviate distress.
My Most Recent Supervisor’s Report (August 2018)
Saffron’s training and theoretical orientation is integrative, which reflects in her practice as her approach is to be open minded to meet the needs of her individual clients. She has a strong understanding of Person Centred Theory which reflects in her work. I am able to witness her build a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients which is an important, fundamental belief of hers. This combined with her awareness of the need to provide the core conditions demonstrates that she has a very strong foundation of person-centred theory. Saffron’s commitment to offering the core conditions allows her to work effectively with the client, building a safe relationship with good strong boundaries.
Saffron is very aware of the need for consistently strong boundaries for both herself and clients. Client’s safety and wellbeing is of paramount importance to her as well as being mindful of her own self care. She makes good use of supervision and the beneficial effect of her commitment is evidential in her client work. I believe that Saffron transfers her personal moral qualities into her practice as described by the BACP ethical framework. Her particularly strong qualities are empathy, integrity, humility, sincerity, resilience and courage.
Over the years Saffron has shown many examples of her awareness of the BACP ethical framework within supervision. She encourages open and honest communication with her clients which is also a reflection of her ethos. She shows respect for her clients and ensures their therapeutic needs are being met.

Further information
I have over 15 years of experience, working as a counsellor. I have had the privilege of working with many courageous people who have faced difficulties in their lives – people from different backgrounds, cultures and with an age range of 16-70+ have been able to explore what is worrying them, gain a better understanding of themselves, their issues and they have gained more control of their lives. This facilitates the possibility of change.
I offer a supportive and confidential environment, working together with my clients, exploring with you areas of your life that you would like to change, improve or simply gain more insight into or understanding about.
I work in an integrative way, which means that I draw on different counselling theories, and by gaining an understanding of your issues and where your problems stem from, you will be able to make the changes that you want to, helping you to live the life that you want.
I am a registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by The Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. That also means that I am fully insured and committed to continuing professional development.
